What’s the Game? Cry for Fame, It’s All the Same

Yello, the Swiss synth group fronted by Dieter Meier, is supposed to be an art project but they’re really just an annoying, cut-rate Kraftwerk.

So I’m not sure how serious Dieter Meier was when he made “Cry for Fame.” Is this a real punk record or an arch European commentary on a punk record?

    Mr. Meier was indeed a fixture on the punk scene. This was no hoax! Periphery Perfume was his label. I believe he also played drums for the mighty Nasal Boys. And Rudolf Dietrich was in Jack & the Rippers. The label put out Fresh Color which Dieter sang on.
